The purpose of this study is to analyze the public's perception of the use of e-money and cash in buying and selling transactions at the 23 March Market in Kotamobagu. This research uses a qualitative approach, with data collected thru interviews with key informants. The research results show a significant contradiction in perception between the two payment methods. In the use of e-money, the public perceives convenience in the form of physical practicality, but it is highly dependent on digital infrastructure. The main benefits lie in the accuracy of transaction values and automatic recording, while security is viewed as protection against physical crime. However, there are technical risks such as system crashes and human error that are the main concerns. In the use of cash, the community continues to maintain this method because it is considered to have ease without technical barriers, benefits in visual budget control, and provides full physical control that builds a sense of security. The risks of cash, such as pickpocketing or counterfeit money, are considered more rational and easier to anticipate compared to the abstract nature of cyber risks.
