Social Sciences Journal recognizes the essential contribution of independent peer reviewers to the quality, integrity, and relevance of scholarly publication. Reviewers provide confidential, evidence-based recommendations; the Editor-in-Chief or assigned editor retains sole responsibility for the final editorial decision. Manuscripts are matched with reviewers according to subject expertise and are evaluated through the journal's double-blind peer-review process.

Reviewer Selection and Responsibilities

Reviewers are selected on the basis of relevant disciplinary expertise, research and publication experience, independence, availability, and the absence of disqualifying conflicts of interest. Reviewer recommendations are advisory and must be supported by clear scholarly reasoning.

ConfidentialityReviewers must treat manuscripts, data, correspondence, and review records as confidential and must not use unpublished material for personal advantage.
Conflicts of InterestReviewers must disclose relevant financial, institutional, collaborative, competitive, or personal interests and decline the assignment when impartiality may be compromised.
Objective AssessmentReviews must address originality, methodological soundness, ethical compliance, clarity, evidence, contribution, and relevance to the journal's focus and scope.
Responsible Technology UseReviewers must not upload confidential manuscripts or identifiable review material to public generative-AI systems or other unauthorized third-party services.

Independence and Public Disclosure

  • Each research manuscript is normally evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise.
  • Reviewer identity is concealed from authors, and author identity is concealed from reviewers, in accordance with the journal's double-blind review policy.
  • Payment status, institutional affiliation, nationality, reputation, or personal relationships must not influence reviewer selection, review reports, or editorial decisions.
  • Public listing is limited to reviewers who have consented to disclosure. The list does not identify which manuscript was reviewed by any individual.
  • Names, affiliations, areas of expertise, consent records, and scholarly identifiers should be reviewed and updated at least annually.
