1. Purpose and Scope

This Disclaimer explains the allocation of responsibility for scholarly content, its use, and external resources associated with MJ. It applies to articles, editorials, reviews, corrections, supplementary files, data links, website content, and communications published or made available through the journal.

This page does not replace the journal's policies on peer review, publication ethics, copyright and licensing, privacy, research data, corrections, expressions of concern, retractions, or appeals and complaints. Those policies govern their respective procedures.

2. Responsibility of Authors

Authors bear primary responsibility for the accuracy, originality, integrity, legality, and appropriate presentation of their submitted and published work. Consistent with the MJ article template and submission declarations, authors must ensure that:

• data, calculations, quotations, references, tables, figures, and interpretations are accurate and not misleading;
• the work is original, properly cited, and not simultaneously submitted or redundantly published;
• all listed authors satisfy the journal's authorship criteria and approve the submitted and final versions;
• funding, contributor roles, competing interests, use of generative artificial intelligence, and other relevant relationships are disclosed;
• required ethics approval, informed consent, consent for publication, and permissions have been obtained and accurately reported;
• research data and supplementary materials are shared lawfully and do not expose protected, confidential, or personally identifiable information; and
• errors discovered after submission or publication are promptly reported to the journal.

3. Editorial and Publisher Responsibility

Peer review and editorial evaluation are quality-control processes; they do not transfer authors' responsibility for their claims to reviewers, editors, or the publisher and cannot guarantee that every error, omission, or instance of misconduct will be detected before publication.

Nevertheless, MJ and its publisher do not disclaim their own editorial and publishing responsibilities. The journal remains responsible for applying its published procedures fairly and independently, protecting editorial confidentiality, managing conflicts of interest, preserving the scholarly record, investigating credible concerns, and issuing corrections, expressions of concern, retractions, or other notices when warranted.

4. Scholarly Information, Not Individual Professional Advice

Content published by MJ is intended for scholarly, educational, and research communication. It must not be treated as a substitute for professional medical, clinical, legal, engineering, financial, psychological, public-policy, or other specialist advice tailored to an individual or specific situation.

Readers and practitioners must evaluate the relevance, limitations, context, methods, date, applicable standards, and supporting evidence before relying on or implementing published information. Where professional judgment, regulation, safety, or clinical care is involved, advice should be obtained from an appropriately qualified professional or competent authority.

5. Accuracy, Currency, and Availability

MJ makes reasonable efforts to maintain accurate publication metadata, accessible files, persistent identifiers, and links. However, scholarly knowledge, legislation, professional standards, datasets, software, websites, and external resources may change after publication. Temporary interruption, formatting differences, broken external links, or later superseding evidence may occur.

The version of record, together with any linked correction, expression of concern, retraction, or update notice, should be consulted. Readers should verify information requiring current or high-stakes accuracy against authoritative and up-to-date sources.

6. External Links and Third-Party Services

Links to DOI registries, indexing services, repositories, datasets, software, institutional websites, or other external resources are provided for identification, verification, or reader convenience. A link does not constitute endorsement, certification, sponsorship, or a guarantee of the external site's accuracy, security, availability, privacy practices, or continued content.

MJ is not responsible for changes made by independent third parties after a link is added. Suspected malicious, redirected, misleading, spam, unrelated commercial, or otherwise inappropriate links should be reported immediately through the journal's official contact page so they can be investigated and removed or corrected.

7. Products, Services, Funding, and Institutional Names

Mention of a commercial product, software application, service, organisation, funder, institution, trademark, or method does not imply endorsement by MJ, the editors, or Universitas Dehasen Bengkulu. Likewise, publication of sponsored or funded research does not permit the sponsor to control peer review or the editorial decision.

Any advertising or promotional material, if accepted by the publisher, must be clearly distinguishable from editorial content and must not influence reviewer selection, peer review, editorial decisions, or post-publication action.

8. Copyright, Permissions, and Reuse

Copyright ownership and permitted reuse of published material are governed by the licence displayed on the article and the journal's Copyright and Licensing Policy. A citation, hyperlink, abstracting record, or technical ability to download content does not by itself authorise reuse beyond the applicable licence, copyright exception, or written permission.

Authors remain responsible for securing permission to reproduce copyrighted or restricted third-party material. Users are responsible for complying with attribution, share-alike, privacy, confidentiality, trademark, database, and other applicable requirements.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, MJ, its editors, reviewers, publisher, and associated institutions are not liable for loss, damage, injury, cost, or consequence arising solely from a reader's interpretation, application, or misuse of author-supplied content or independent third-party resources.

Nothing in this Disclaimer excludes or limits a responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded, nor does it excuse fraud, wilful misconduct, unlawful handling of personal data, breach of confidentiality, failure to follow the journal's published procedures, or failure to take reasonable action after a credible concern is established.

10. Corrections, Concerns, and Complaints

A reader who identifies a material factual error, inaccessible or unsafe link, undisclosed competing interest, suspected research misconduct, copyright issue, privacy concern, or other publication problem should contact the journal with the article title, DOI or URL, a clear description of the concern, and supporting evidence.

The journal will assess concerns under the applicable policy, preserve due process and confidentiality, and publish an appropriate notice when the evidence warrants action. This Disclaimer must not be used to prevent legitimate criticism, correction, investigation, or redress.

11. Policy Review and Contact

This Disclaimer may be revised when legal requirements, scholarly-publishing standards, journal procedures, or website services change. Material revisions will be dated on this page and will not retrospectively remove established rights or responsibilities.
