Multidisciplinary Journals (MJ) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal that publishes original scholarly work from a broad range of disciplines. The journal provides a platform for disciplinary, multidisciplinary, and interdisciplinary research that makes a clear academic or practical contribution and is supported by appropriate theory, rigorous methods, transparent analysis, and responsible research practices.

Journal Focus

MJ seeks to disseminate research findings, theoretical developments, critical analyses, and evidence-based applications that advance knowledge or address significant scientific, social, technological, managerial, health, environmental, cultural, or educational issues. Manuscripts should clearly identify the research problem, relevant scholarly gap, objectives, methods, principal findings or arguments, and contribution to the field.

Multidisciplinary submissions should demonstrate a meaningful connection between two or more fields. Merely presenting several disciplinary terms without integrating their concepts, methods, evidence, or implications does not constitute a multidisciplinary contribution.

Scholarly relevanceClear relationship to current knowledge and debates.
Original contributionNew evidence, interpretation, model, method, or application.
Methodological rigorMethods appropriate to the question and evidence.
Ethical complianceTransparent and responsible conduct and reporting.

Subject Areas

MJ considers manuscripts within the following seven subject areas. The examples are indicative rather than exhaustive; however, every submission must demonstrate a substantive connection to at least one area and be assigned according to its principal scholarly contribution.

01Humanities

Research examining human culture, expression, ideas, values, historical experience, language, and creative practices.

02Social Sciences

Theoretical, empirical, comparative, critical, and applied studies of society, institutions, governance, communities, education, and human interaction.

Coverage: Geography; Sociology; Education; Political Science; Communication and Media Studies; Law; Public Policy; Public Administration and Governance; Social Studies and Social Research; Anthropology; and related interdisciplinary social inquiry.

03Management, Economics, and Business

Research concerning markets, organizations, financial systems, managerial decision-making, workforce development, governance, and institutional performance.

Coverage: Commerce; Economics; Finance and Banking; Accounting; Corporate Governance; Human Resource Management; Marketing Management; Strategic Management; Quality Management; Organizational Studies; Training and Development.

04Engineering, Computing, and Applied Sciences

Research and technological development involving computation, information systems, engineering design, infrastructure, modelling, innovation, and applied physical science.

Coverage: Information Technology; Computer Applications; Information Systems; Civil Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; Chemical Engineering; Electrical Engineering; Applied Physics; and relevant engineering technologies.

05Health and Clinical Sciences

Ethically approved research on health, clinical practice, healthcare delivery, maternal and community care, pharmaceutical science, interventions, and patient or population outcomes.

Coverage: Medicine; Public Health; Nursing; Midwifery; Clinical Research; Pharmacy; Pharmacognosy; Pharmacology; Phytochemistry; and related health disciplines.

06Biological, Environmental, and Agricultural Sciences

Research on living systems, molecular and cellular processes, ecosystems, biodiversity, agriculture, food and nutrition, environmental sustainability, and biological resources.

Coverage: Botany; Bioscience; Microbiology; Biotechnology; Clinical Biology; Molecular Biology; Biochemistry; Agriculture; Chemistry; Environmental Science and Ecology; Food Science; Nutrition; Plant Science; Entomology; Zoology; Fisheries.

07Physical Education, Sport, and Human Performance

Research on teaching and learning in physical education, physical activity, exercise and training, sport performance, rehabilitation, movement, fitness, wellness, and physiological adaptation.

Coverage: Physical Education; Sports and Sport Science; Yoga and Wellness; Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation; Exercise Physiology; Health-Related Fitness; Coaching; and Human Performance.

Section assignment and overlapping topics
Manuscripts that relate to more than one subject area will be assigned according to their principal research question, theoretical contribution, methodology, and intended scholarly audience. For example, a linguistics study using a sport setting remains a Humanities or Social Sciences manuscript unless its primary contribution concerns physical education, sport pedagogy, exercise, or human performance.

Types of Manuscripts

Original Research ArticleReports original empirical, analytical, experimental, qualitative, quantitative, mixed-method, or development research.
Review ArticleProvides a systematic, scoping, integrative, or critical synthesis of relevant scholarship and identifies research implications.
Conceptual or Theoretical ArticleDevelops concepts, frameworks, propositions, or critical arguments grounded in relevant literature.
Case or Technical StudyPresents a rigorously documented case, intervention, product, process, system, service, or applied solution with transferable lessons.

Editorial Scope Criteria

A manuscript is considered within scope when it:

  • addresses a topic substantively connected to one or more subject areas listed above;
  • states a clear research problem, objective, and scholarly or practical contribution;
  • engages with relevant and sufficiently current literature;
  • uses methods, evidence, or analytical reasoning appropriate to its objectives;
  • reports findings, limitations, and implications transparently;
  • complies with research ethics, authorship, originality, disclosure, and publication-integrity requirements; and
  • follows the journal's language, structure, citation, and formatting requirements.

Manuscripts Normally Outside the Scope

MJ will normally decline or return manuscripts that:

  • fall outside the declared subject areas or have only a superficial connection to them;
  • are purely descriptive and do not establish a scholarly problem, gap, analysis, or contribution;
  • present unsupported opinion, promotional content, or claims that cannot be evaluated from the evidence provided;
  • lack sufficient methodological or analytical transparency;
  • contain plagiarism, fabricated or falsified information, undisclosed duplicate publication, or serious ethical deficiencies;
  • are simultaneously under consideration by another journal; or
  • do not comply with the journal's minimum submission and formatting requirements after being returned for correction.

Scope Screening and Submission

All submissions undergo preliminary editorial screening before peer review. The editors may decline a manuscript without external review when it is outside the journal's scope, lacks a sufficient scholarly contribution, does not meet minimum quality or ethical requirements, or is not prepared in accordance with the Author Guidelines. Passing the scope screening does not guarantee acceptance; the final decision is based on editorial evaluation and peer review.
