Optimalisasi Bantuan Hukum Gratis sebagai Bentuk Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat di Kota Bandar Lampung

Abstract

Access to justice is a constitutional right of every citizen; however, many people are still unable to reach legal services due to economic limitations and lack of legal knowledge. This community service activity aimed to optimize the utilization of free legal aid for the community of Bandar Lampung through legal counseling, consultation, and assistance. The method applied was a participatory approach consisting of needs identification, interactive legal education, case consultation services, and activity evaluation. The results showed a significant increase in public understanding regarding the right to obtain free legal aid and dispute resolution procedures. The most frequently consulted issues included family law, debt agreements, and employment matters. The program provided initial solutions in the form of legal advice, mediation, and referrals to legal aid institutions. This community service activity proves that the optimization of free legal aid plays an important role in improving legal awareness and expanding access to justice for the people of Bandar Lampung. Sustainable programs through synergy between universities, local government, and legal aid institutions are needed to ensure more effective and equitable services.
