Ethical Oversight

Jurnal Pusat Manajemen (PUSMAN) · e-ISSN 3048-3840

Jurnal Pusat Manajemen (PUSMAN) requires research involving people, identifiable personal information, organizations, communities, or other ethically sensitive contexts to comply with applicable law, institutional requirements, and recognized research-ethics principles.

Human participants and personal data

  • Obtain prior approval or documented exemption from a competent ethics committee when required, and state the committee name, approval number, and date in the manuscript.
  • Obtain informed consent for participation and, separately when needed, for publication of identifiable information, images, quotations, or case details.
  • Use proportionate recruitment, risk minimization, privacy, anonymization, and data-security measures, with additional safeguards for vulnerable participants or unequal power relationships.
  • Explain any waiver of consent or ethics review and identify the authority that granted it; authors may not self-declare an exemption where independent review is required.

Organizational and field research

Research conducted in workplaces, businesses, public bodies, online communities, or other organizations must respect permissions, confidentiality commitments, participant autonomy, and the distinction between organizational authorization and individual consent.

Sensitive topics and potential harm

Authors must consider risks of stigmatization, discrimination, re-identification, reputational harm, financial harm, or misuse of findings. Identifiers should be removed unless their inclusion is necessary, lawful, ethically approved, and consented to. Editors may request protocols, consent forms, approval letters, risk assessments, or evidence of data protection.

Non-compliance

When approval, consent, or safeguards are inadequate, the journal may request correction, reject the manuscript, pause publication, or investigate. Published concerns are handled under the Publication Ethics and post-publication policies.

This page governs research-participant and study oversight. Dataset access is handled separately in Research Data and Data Availability.
