Plagiarism and Data Fabrication

Jurnal Pusat Manajemen (PUSMAN) does not tolerate plagiarism, text recycling that obscures prior publication, fabrication, falsification, image or data manipulation, citation manipulation, or redundant publication. Similarity software supports editorial assessment but does not determine misconduct by a fixed percentage alone.

Definitions

Plagiarism	Presenting another person’s words, ideas, data, images, or structure without adequate attribution and permission where required.
Text recycling	Reusing substantial material from one’s own prior work without transparent citation or where the reuse creates a misleading claim of novelty.
Fabrication	Making up data, participants, observations, results, sources, or records that did not exist.
Falsification	Manipulating research materials, methods, images, data, or analysis, or omitting information so the research record is materially misleading.
Redundant publication	Publishing substantially the same findings more than once without transparent cross-reference, justification, and permission.

Screening and assessment

Manuscripts may be screened at submission, during review, before publication, and after publication. Editors examine the location, nature, attribution, disciplinary conventions, and scholarly effect of overlap. Authors may be asked for raw data, analysis files, ethics documentation, source texts, permissions, or an explanation. Automated scores and AI-detection outputs are not treated as conclusive evidence.

Possible actions

Before publication, the journal may request correction or clarification, suspend review, or reject the manuscript. After publication, verified problems are handled through Corrections and Errata, Expressions of Concern, or Retractions. When appropriate and supported by evidence, the journal may notify relevant institutions, funders, or other journals. Decisions are proportionate and do not rely on automatic multi-year blacklists.

Author responsibility

All authors share responsibility for the submitted work. Direct quotations, paraphrases, translations, figures, data, and methods taken from prior sources must be clearly attributed. Conference papers, theses, preprints, and earlier reports must be disclosed when they overlap with the submission.

This page addresses originality and data integrity. It does not contain withdrawal fees or post-publication procedures; those are governed by Manuscript Withdrawal and the relevant post-publication policy.
